Students received or will be receiving all 3 large rewards, they had lunch music for 2 days. Last week they got their largest reward of inflatables obstacle course days! They had a blast! Next up is purchasing some new outdoor items for them!

THE BEST PART? Pies happened for 2 days! Mrs. Oleson thought the kids would be over it after the first few thrown, but no, each student was just as excited as the first! Thank to both for being good sports and participating in this! It was way messier then we anticipated!

Today we were able to stop in the top earning classroom for each grade and treat them to their caramel apple bar reward! It was a big hit and they loved it to the core!

Dear Community Supporters-

It’s hard to believe we are already planning for our upcoming year of events at school! The Amherst PTO was very busy last year with events throughout the school months with back to school night, a Halloween dance, parent teacher conferences, holiday shop, family skating party, literacy week, popcorn/pickle Fridays, teacher appreciation week, and a last week of school ice cream social!

This year we will be swapping out our literacy event in the Spring to hold a STEAM-science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics event(s). We are so excited to plan this together with our teachers for the 4k-6 students to get them excited about these fields!

One of the events we would like to have is a show featuring ‘Mario the Maker Magician’ who in his own words is “Magic’s punk rock peter pan philosopher”. He has been seen on Sesame Street, Universal Kids, HGTV, and more. His show is focused on STEAM and getting the kids engaged and excited about it! Check out a video on his home page here: www.mariothemagician.com

Due to the size of our 4k-6 grades, we would have to have 2 shows with Mario to include all of the students. The price to have 2 shows with Mario is $2,500. We are asking for you to consider a donation no matter the size to help bring Mario to Amherst! With a donation, we will be including your name and/or business logo on our posters to promote the event at school and on our Facebook posts.
